New reforms announced by theresa may

In a speech due to be delivered later today, Prime Minister Theresa May will announce plans for extensive reforms with the UK's mental health services, with a focus on children and young people.

As part of the new reforms - in a bid to transform the way mental illness is dealt with, every secondary school in the UK will ow be offered mental health first aid training.

Mrs May's speech will outline her plans to create a "shared society" using the state.

Additionally, improved training for teachers, an extra £15 million for community care, and improved support in the workplace were among measures announced by the PM.

This comes after mental health experts have voiced concerns over lack of funding, with many arguing that more funding was needed to improve services.

The prime minister said mental health had been "dangerously disregarded" as secondary to physical health and changing that would go "right to the heart of our humanity".

With an annual cost of £105 billion, the government says one in four people has a mental disorder at some point in their life.
